Establishment and Composition

By City Code, an Airport Commission was established and is to be made up of five members who shall serve staggered three year terms.

Powers and Duties

The Commission advises the Council in all matters dealing with the airport and its operation. Through the Airport Manager, the Commission recommends to the City Council their recommendation on an annual operating budget, report on adequacy of facilities, recommend capital improvements, and serve as a forum for others to express their views on subjects relating to the airport and its operation.

Organization and Meetings

The first meeting of each calendar year, the Commission shall elect from their members a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, a Secretary and other officers as needed. The Commission shall meet as needed and keep minutes of all meetings.  Minutes are to be given to the Council as soon as possible after each meeting.
